The structural part of a pre engineered building consists a main frame which is made from steel. These are produced on an assembly line in manufacturing setup and then sent to the construction site for assembling. This ensures quick construction, which is not obtainable in case of brick and mortar.

The main framework is given additional support by secondary structures that includes girts, purlins, and more. The wall as well as roof panels could be made from single skin steel sheet or insulated sandwich panels, depending on the need. The applications of pre engineered structures are multiple.
